If you are interested in a career in interior design, you need to look carefully at the colleges with interior design programs.  Many colleges offer a whole range of programs, both in terms of the length and delivery of the program, and in a variety of specialties in interior design.

Many colleges with interior design programs offer a number of different qualifications.  You can study for a certificate - either full-time or part-time, and the program may be as long as a year.  You can study for an associate's degree, a bachelor's degree or a master's degree, depending on how long you want to study for, the specialties you are interested in and your previous qualifications.  Some colleges offer a graduate diploma in interior design, allowing you to add to your skills after your degree.

Different colleges with interior design programs offer different subject specialties in interior design, concentrating on business and office design, hospital and clinic design, hotels, industrial premises and other business areas.  Some specialize in home interior design and will do programs for bathrooms, kitchens, and even patio design.  Some colleges have links with architectural courses, or other design courses that help to broaden the offerings that they have, and to give you some interesting options in terms of specializations.  You need to study carefully the programs that are available, to see where the best program for your area is offered.
