What can one say about the Golden State? California is famous for so many different things. The great redwoods of the north, Hollywood, the Golden Gate Bridge-the list is literally endless. And in the history department, there's enough to keep scholars busy for years. There was the gold rush, Berkeley in the 1960s, and the Wild West. But when you have almost 34 million people (the largest population in the States), it's not surprising that there is so much history attached.
California has some of the best of everything to offer. Great weather, laid back people, beautiful nature, terrific beaches, and world-class food. It also has some of the best universities in the US. From Berkeley to Stanford to Caltech, California has some smart folks. It also has America's favorite action hero as the governor-how cool is that?
